Hawaiian French Toast and Coconut Syrup

New Years Day 2012

Hawaiian French Toast and Coconut Syrup

We make this in Hawaii for breakfast over the holiday but this year we aren't in Hawaii:( so we are celebrating New Years Day with our favorite Hawaiin breakfast! Kids love it!

Hawaiian French Toast
King's Hawaiian sweet bread (this is what I use)
3 eggs
1/8 cup half and half
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla

cook over medium heat on griddle

This is the most delicious syrup around and its easy to make!
Coconut Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup karo syrup
cook these two ingredients until the sugar granules are dissolved over medium heat
(I made a mistake last time and mixed it all together first and that didn't work out too well)
1 cup half and half (or milk, I like it creamier)
1 tsp coconut extract flavoring

add milk and flavoring after granules are dissolved and turn off the stove

Slice up banana and have on the side

My kids love this breakfast, we do anything to feel like we are in Hawaii especially around the holidays!
Enjoy the yummy food!
